This installation in New Delhi features the Puritsu design carved in staggered levels of 5” thick Mocha Crema Limestone. The facade and boundary wall of the facade were designed keeping the Puritsu and its organic form in mind. The client was specific about not wanting to see horizontal and vertical joints and hence, all the stone panels were cut, carved, and designed in an interlocking manner. Negative space of shot-blasted surface allows the viewer to better appreciate the details and intricacies of the Purtisu’s pattern.
To achieve variations of the levels on this installation, mechanical installation was used with clamps and fasteners so that the stone slabs could be installed in a staggered manner.
