The Fasetto, part of the Ishi Kiri collection, is inspired by the traditional Japanese paper-folding art of origami. It explores the pleats and creases of paper in multi-dimensional forms to create dramatic stone surfaces. The Fasetto (Japanese for facet) is a combination of several differing facets that come together to create a beautiful asymmetric surface. The Fasetto is an embossed interpretation of the engraved patterns that grace the ceiling of the magnificent Taj Mahal in India.
Like most of our work, the Fasetto is crafted using an intricate and customized manufacturing process. This begins with drafting rough prototypes on paper, feeding directives into a Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) milling machine, and then finishing the machine-cut panels by hand to add a human touch to the digitally-fabricated product.
The Fasetto is available in modular panels measuring 24” X 24” in four material choices: Graphite Gray Granite, Crèma Limestone, Taj White Marble, and Pristine White Marble. The patterns on the Fasetto are customizable and can be interpreted to suit specific project requirements across varied scales and typologies.
